V34 with Yanmar 3GM30F fuel consumption
I have just taken ownership of a 1998 Victoria 34 which has the original Yanmar 3GM30F. Are there any Victoria 34 owners out there that might be able to give me a rough idea of litres/hour fuel consumption at whatever rpm they tend to cruise at.
I know that it all depends on propsize and other things but any information would be helpful as currently I have no quick and easy way of measuring how much fuel is in the tank.
Thanks,
Adrian

Re: V34 with Yanmar 3GM30F fuel consumption
I can't actually measure my consumption either; I've got a basic air pressure monitoring setup that tells me if I'm full or not
Consumption should be around 3 litres per hour though if I remember right.
The service manual for the 3GM30F, page 26, has the consumption curves on a test bench.. https://victoriashadow.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Manuals
I presume you can't easily take off a cap on top and put a long wooden stick in? (I'd understand if not - Blue Opal's tanks are actually twin tanks in the starboard cockpit locker, and there's no inspection hatch.)

Thanks for that Duncan. I'm in the same boat (!?) as you fuel tank wise, 2 connected tanks with poor access and currently no way to even dipstick the tank. Hopefully I will get the tank tender working at some point but for the moment I'll keep track of the engine hours, have 30 litres backup in jerry cans and fill-up whenever I can.

Re: V34 with Yanmar 3GM30F fuel consumption
For what it is worth I reckon that my V34 with the same engine has a burn rate of about 1.5l /h. i have a fixed 3 blade prop and cruise at 2400 rpm which give 5.5 to 6 knots oner the ground most times I'm using the engine. I've owned Kaya for the past 17 years and find the fuel tank meter reasonably accurate but i normally carry 20 litres in a jerry can.

I own Blue Alligator, a Vic34 with the original Yanmar 3gm30f and a 3 blade featherstream prop. At around 2500 rpm the consumption is 1.5 l/hour.
