Engine bearers
Hi. Can anyone tell me whether the V30 engine bearers are constructed of wood or iron/steel please? We need to add about an inch of height to fit the new Beta 25. Has anyone else done this, and what material did they use? Our current thoughts are to have bearer plates fabricated in steel, and to simply screw the new plates into the old Yanmar holes. Thanks!

Re: Engine bearers
For the 26's, I have seen one with a hardwood runner than is full length, and mine has metal blocks.
Can't remember who's this one is. Will take one of mine when next up.

Jonathan, thank you! A picture of your installation would be great too.

Re: Engine bearers
This was a bit harder to photograph than I thought - too many things either in front of the lens or the flash. If they are not clear, or you want more then let me know. The front mounts are just about ok in terms of height - it was just the back ones that needed blocking. Look forward to seeing the new installation out on the water next year....
