COVID19
With the River Hamble unlocked, and a chance to begin with Step 1 of the Government's latest guidance Lynda and I decided to take advantage of a sunny day, and light winds for our Landau 20, plus favourable tides to Newtown Creek and return. It encouraged us to venture into the Western Solent from Warsash.
What a day; we had the Solent to ourselves, during the morning, and reached Newtown in time for a leisurely lunch. Being in the same household social distancing was not a problem for us. However the Harbour Seals seemed intent on getting together, and the abundant collection of birds were as entertaining as ever.
By the time of our return, other boaters had increased to mid-winter levels, and we returned to our mid-stream mooring refreshed and relaxed.
We hope that all other members of the Association have escaped the worst of the virus and look forward to meeting up with old friends before the season comes to an end. Stay safe.
Jon Spencer.
