Re-Engine a F34PH/V34
Pippin might fly under sail, but she's a snail under power, with her smoky old but faithful 1997 Yanmar '30' (actually 27 at maximum revs when new).
I would like to fit a 40 hp diesel, as I did in a previous boat (a Westerly 33) and would greatly value thoughts and ideas from any member who has done a similar exercise, especially as space is so very tight in the engine bay.
I would also prefer not to fit a common rail diesel, which limits the choice, but am prepared to be convinced otherwise.

Re: Re-Engine a F34PH/V34
Hi John,
I know that Guy Warner replaced his engine on 'Ruby Star' (V34 cutter) several years ago with a 40HP Volvo D2-40 3-cylinder fresh-water cooled diesel engine. Guys has installed a hatch in the cockpit floor to improve access. Not sure how the installation/space compares on the F34 though.
I am sure Guy will be able to provide more info.
I too would love more HP, but the 3GM30F will have to do for now.
Good luck.

Thanks Charles. I know that Sean Hunt had a Yanmar 39 installed in his F34PH. Not sure that is available now. The Nanni N38 looks as though it might fit too. I will update as things progress.
