Frances 26 Inyoni, previously called Jill
After some months of searching, I recently found, and bought a Frances 26 named Jill, in Singapore. I sailed her single handed 450nm up the Malacca Strait, to the island of Langkawi in Malaysia. I have renamed her Inyoni, which is the Zulu name for a small bird. I believe she was originally from the UK, and sailed? out to Australia, then up through Indonesia to Singapore where she had a number of different owners. I would really like to establish contact with any, or all of the previous owners. There are 7 YouTube videos called “Sailing with Jill” that I found.
I am starting a fairly major refit. Replacing the 8 HP Yanmar with a Beta 16 and a feathering MaxProp, converting her to a cutter rig, fitting a Navik wind vane, modifying the rudder, fitting new instruments and replacing all the electrics, removing the teak decks, new sails, standing and running rigging, installing a new paraffin Optimus stove, a refrigerator, a windlass, new chain and anchor. Also painting, building a hard dodger and a two piece nesting dinghy. Enough to keep me rather busy for some time!
I have just joined the Association, and spent the last hour browsing through some posts. Already I have got so much information, that my £15 fee is a real bargain.

Interesting Bill. Keep us posted with how you get on with the Narvik windvane. I am considering my options for my Victoria 34 cutter Ruby Star based in Port Solent. Guy Warner
