Musings on wind transducers
Wonderful things, great for autohelms that need to know what direction the wind is coming from to do "steer to wind" helming. Also silly expensive to repair/replace when they break and are no longer manufactured.
Pretty sure there should be a much larger feather on it than that!
Parts have been ordered from a UK seller in Devon, and An Post permitting, should be here by next week so I can take the whole thing apart and replace both the feather and the bearings for the cups (as spinning the cups shows definite lack of smooth spinning). Thankfully, I found a guide somewhere on the 'net from 2018 on how to take one of these apart and repair it!
