South Coast Spring Social

The South Coast Spring Social will again take place at Warsash Sailing Club (SO31 9FS) overlooking the entrance to the River Hamble, on Saturday 21st February 2015, starting at about noon.  The Social will be preceded by a Victoria Shadow Association Committee Meeting.

The format for the day will be:

11:00        Committee Meeting

12:00        Members and their guests gather in the bar

13:00        Lunch in the bar

14:00        Association raffle and prize draw

14:30        An illustrated presentation on the Extreme Racing Programme, by Peter Cumming   

16:00        Members and their guests disperse

If you wish to attend I would be grateful if you would let Lynda or I know so that we can ensure that the necessary arrangements can be put in hand.  Our contacts are jon.fairwinds@btinternet.com or 01489 581622.

Lunch will be ordered and taken from the Club’s lunch menu which covers a range of snacks and light meals at reasonable prices.

The Raffle will again be organised by John Cade and members are invited to bring a prize, usually in the hope that they will not win it back themselves, and purchase raffle tickets, which helps offset the limited costs of the event.

All offers from members to volunteer to serve on the Association Committee will be gratefully received (check the website for vacancies).  The amount of time and effort that a member is asked to provide is determined by the volunteering member and as physical attendance at the Committee Meetings is not essential the task can be undertaken from anywhere, and wherever you call home.     

Other rallies on the South Coast for 2015 include: Lymington, Dan Bran Pontoon and Lymington Town Sailing Club, on the 16th and 17th May; and the Medina River, and Folly Inn, Isle of Wight, 5th and 6th September.  The first will be organised by Jon and Lynda Spencer and the second by Tim and Dee Clarke and further details will be published in due course.  We look forward to seeing you there, but dancing on the tables at the Folly Inn will not be compulsory.

Those members attending the South Coast Social at Warsash Sailing Club on Saturday 21st February are requested to note that Peter Cumming, who is a sailor in the Extreme Racing Programme, will be unable to deliver his presentation due to another professional racing commitment in the Caribbean.  However, Jon Spencer is arranging an alternative speaker on a suitable sailing related topic.
