New Facebook group set up for Victoria and Francis fans
Search for Victoria and Francis Yachts Facebook Group. The group is public at the moment - hopefully won't attract attention from traders but if it does I'll set it to private members only. Will be interesting to see how many admirers the marque has around the world over time. Feel free to plug the Victoria Shadow Association.

Re: New Facebook group set up for Victoria and Francis fans
Alison, thank you for drawing our attention to your new Facebook Group. I regret that I am unable to access the details as I am not a Facebook Member, but was able to do so through my son's membership. We discussed your initiative at our Association Committee Meeting on Saturday and believe your ideas will have merit of ease of access for other Facebook Members, but there was some concern that your Group might replace this Forum within our Website. However, from your various pages I note the replacement covers that you have made to your upholstery on JENNY WREN and the availability of your paper patterns which you are willing to loan. I also thought that your Port of London Tidal App would be of particular interest to our Shadow Members and those of us who hope to head up the Thames to Limehouse later this year. Many of us are suspicious of change but we must try and embrace progress where possible.
You will be aware of our East Coast social at Wivenhoe on Saturday 25th March and I wondered if you would be able to attend and provide us with further information as the afternoon event encourages members to bring us up to date with their cruising plans, or bring new ideas to the table. I will be interested to hear how much interest your Group attracts as our official Website attracts about 35 people, excluding search engines, every day; with there always being somebody in the world taking an interest. Please note that this is not a criticism but Frances has an "e" not an "i" which might effect those searching for you on Facebook. Finally, great picture of JENNY WREN. We look forward to meeting you at Limehouse if not before.
Jon.

Re: New Facebook group set up for Victoria and Francis fans
Have no concern Jon. I decided to create a Facebook presence with the view that it might increase awareness of the Association and encourage new membership. Hence my encouragement to post any news there as desired.
I guessed the number of users on this web forum who also use Facebook would be low, (my husband is not a fan of such social media, which isn't that uncommon), then I wondered how many Facebook users there might be who would have an interest. I also considered those who may have an interest without actually owning a Victoria or Frances at this time.
I didn't want to be presumptuous and include any of the website information here without having made any previous agreement but it would be great to make an obvious link between the two. Perhaps mentioning the technical help available or the social events might attract new membership.
Also, the POL Tidal App being a good example, on Facebook it is very easy to provide links to share potentially useful or interesting information. Certainly anything showing there can be mentioned here too using a traditional link? I'm not so good at using those. In truth I'm no expert at running a Facebook group either so I'm still finding my way around that.
Similarly it was simple to put a picture of my upholstery on Facebook to ensure anyone wanting the patters actually had the same layout, without eating up the forum bandwidth. I did mean to mention the patterns here but twice got distracted and ended up getting absorbed in other posts!
I'm not sure we can make it to Wivenhoe yet but we are looking forward to Limehouse. Oh, the Francis/Frances thing, I have two friends both called Francis, I think that spelling is stamped on my brain, thanks for the prompt, you were not alone in spotting it so it's spelt properly now.
If you would like any particular changes made to the Facebook group then just let me know, it's no problem.
