Combined Rally to Limehouse Basin, London - 14 to 17 July 2017

We are planning a combined rally at Limehouse Basin, London for South Coast sailors, East Coast Sailors and Thames river cruisers (plus anyone else who would like to come along) over the weekend of Friday 14th July to Monday 17th July.  I am guessing that the Shadow members will travel together in a mini flotilla down the Thames and it now looks like we will have a Victoria fleet travelling up the Thames with 2 or 3 yachts coming round from the Solent joining up with East Coast sailors at the Medway for a final trip up to Limehouse.

According to the information for Limehouse Marina the lock into the marina operates from 08.00 to 18.00 daily for 3hrs ether side of high water.

For Friday 14th July HW at London Bridge is at 18.03 BST so entry into the marina is from 15.00 until 1800.

For Monday 17th July HW is at 08.01 BST so we will be able to leave from 08.00 until 11.00

We will arrange a meal for all to attend at a local venue on the Saturday night and there will no doubt be other social events / drinks parties over the weekend!

Any VSA member who is unable or unwilling to travel by boat is of course, very welcome to attend by car, train, etc.

Planning for the Limehouse Rally is now well underway with an expected 10 -12 boats so far indicating that they would like to take part. 

Berths at Limehouse Basin have been booked and a meal arranged for Saturday 15th July at the Cruising Association.  A number of other members have expressed an interest in joining us there by land.  It will be the first time in many years that Shadow motor boats and Victoria and Frances yachts meet up at the same venue. 

If you would like to join us either by boat or by car or public transport please get in touch via the email addresses given in the initial memo.  We will liaise with the marina and the Cruising Association regarding expected numbers.
