An important date for your diaries - Saturday 16th March 2013 for the East Coast Social at Wivenhoe.
We will follow the usual format of meeting for lunch at the Rose and Crown on the quay before adjourning to the Nottage Maritime Institute just a few yards away along the quay www.nottagemaritimeinstitute.org.uk
As the pub is often busy at weekends, we suggest arriving around noon to place orders for food as early as possible Parking on the quay is very limited and can be wet at high tide. The station carpark is just a short walk away
Shortly after 2pm we plan to move to the Institute. We will be entertained by James Boyd, owner and restorer of Concord of Mersea and a professional raconteur and classical guitarist. Do have a look at his website - www.jamesboyd.co.uk.
We will round the afternoon off with tea and cakes. Please bring a small prize for the raffle which will be held to defer the costs of the event.
It would be very helpful to have an idea of numbers attending, please email/phone: macgregor.farleigh@btinternet.com or 01622729507
We are very excited that James has agreed to come along to our meeting and hope many of you will be able to come and listen to him.
David and Sue Macgregor
