East Coast Spring Social at Wivenhoe

An important date for your diaries - Saturday 20th February 2016 for our East Coast Social at Wivenhoe – a little earlier than usual to avoid a clash with the 25th Anniversary luncheon at Warsash

We will follow the usual format of meeting for lunch at the Rose and Crown on the quay before adjourning to  the Nottage Maritime Institute just a few yards away along the quay  www.nottagemaritimeinstitute.org.uk

Parking on the quay is very limited but the station car park is just a short walk away. As the pub is often busy at weekends, we suggest arriving around noon to place orders for food as early as possible.
Shortly after 2pm we will move to the Institute for our meeting.

Our speaker will be our son Joe who some of you will remember as our junior crew on Victoria Rose. He is now a naval architect but took the summer off from his desk job to join a 13,000 mile delivery trip from St Lucia to Freemantle. He will regale us with tales of their adventures and places visited on a Hanse 495.

We will round the afternoon off with tea and cakes. Please bring a small prize for the raffle which will be held to defer the cost of the event.

It would be very helpful to have an idea of numbers attending, please email/phone:   macgregor.farleigh@btinternet.com or 01622729507.

We look forward to seeing you at Wivenhoe and hearing of sailing plans for 2016. We intend to take a break from Mediterranean  sailing in July/August and would be happy to organise an East Coast rally if there is sufficient interest.
